Back then when I still was using my credit card, I was able to experience where I returned a certain product that I was not satisfied with. Although everything pushed through quite well, I notice that there was a % that was taken from the exact amount by the card company. I didn't mind cos it was just a little value to go crazy for. Is that normal for that types of transactions?
I filed a chargeback at least once when I noticed that my credit card was billed with Yahoo bulk mails which I never acquired. My only transaction with Yahoo was its cheap domain name offer. At least the bill was reversed by my credit card company.
It's a normal thing, they almost charge you for every transaction you do as well as transactions they do for you. May it be for the paper work, processing fee and any other term they can think of.
For every transaction you make you are charged for it. For me, it is better for them to charge me this minimal amount, than not to receive a charge back for it. Having it reversed is the most important.
Although it is cliche to say this, but nothing comes free nowadays. But I must agree with everyone's posts. It is much better to be charged of the minimal fees rather than not have my money back at all.
