Default Egold vs. Paypal!

On paypal, I know you can use chargebacks because I have seen the link to it on there. But can you use the chargeback feature with egold?

I enquired about this on a different forum as i didnt get why people but egold and pay more paypal like me trading $5 for $10 but its to do with risk etc.

Some people cannot withdraw paypal so they sell their paypal fund for lower egold - the reason being you need to be careful with sending egold as the paypal dude can send the money, leave a week then claim it back and once your money goes into his egold account you cant do anything about it.

So only go with trusted members of forums etc who have good rep

E-Gold doesn't offer chargebacks. It is a payment processor mostly oriented for sellers because they get maximum protection which is not the case in Paypal.

This means that there is no protection what so ever for the buyer. what if I was involved in a fraud and wanted my money back?

The maximum which e-gold would do is to ban the account of the seller if you provide enough evidence but till that time, he would have moved the money to another account.

It measn that neither paypal is safe nor E-gold is safe as neither paypal nor e-gold takes full gurantee of your hard earned money.

E-Gold is safe in a manner that one can not chargeback, so if you use escrow services there is no chance to get scam because no chargeback can be guaranteed. But it would be only good for high amount transactions because escrow fees will be quite heavy.

E-gold is good for seller protection whereas Paypal is good at Buyer protection . Now you decide which one you like. Paypal is quite easy though.

I agree egold is pro seller while Paypal is pro buyer. The only drawback I see with egold is its lenient account application procedure. You can easily apply for an account even if your personal information is fictitious.
