Thread: No chance to fix it

The credit card companies claim they will not do a chargeback unless the customer can prove they gave a merchant a chance to fix the problem. I got a chargeback, yet no one ever contacted me to fix anything. Can I dispute the chargeback now claiming I had no chance to fix the issue, or is it to late?

I think you'd have to talk to the credit card company that is involved in order to be sure. It definitely would not hurt to talk to them, since the worst they can do at this point is tell you "it's too late."

Yeah, the question is do you get the benefit of the doubt or not. If they have no paperwork showing that they sent you a written notice, then you might be able to dispute it. At the same time if neither side has proof it will be hard to challenge.

Sadly not the case. If you sell online, it's pretty much a guaranteed chargeback. I have seen people win it, you basically have to load up on documentation and proof and that's your best bet but even then it's a long shot.
