I think it might be abused. The current balance is indeed unfair but we don't want to create a complete shift to the other side where the merchant is now in full power. Ideally, we want somewhere in the middle of the two systems!
I agree.I think it would be better for everyone if a consumer would call the merchant first and try and resolve the issue.It was on Anderson Cooper 360 awhile back that 70% of consumers call their credit card company first.I guess that is the reason the merchants are looking for a out.
