Thread: Punishing the Perpetrators

It seems like there's a lot more fraud going on than any honest person could comprehend. What about catching the perpetrators and convicting them of their crimes? Are a large percentage of them caught and convicted or are the criminals getting away with it?

I'm going to say that my opinion is that a lot of them just get away with it, or the worst they get is a slap on the wrist. Every now and ten an organized crime ring or a scammer that insists on doing the variations of the same scam will get shut down, but I think its a small percentage.

I can't find any stats anywhere that give an overall total for chargeback fraud prosecutions. I imagine that it is not many but of those that happen most will involve regular people. I mean that organised gangs are unliely to be caught as they have more experience and hidey holes.
