    Chargeback instigation fee

I have noticed that some banks and other financial institutions are implementing a fee system for customers who want to pursue a chargeback. About time too! I hope they all follow suit as this may deter the amateur scammers at least.

This is an interesting development and I definitely agree with it. Surely it would stop people thinking they can just try their hand at swindling the business. I am pretty sure many of these people don't even realise that their action hurts the seller directly. Here's another company that have a clear and tough policy on chargebacks in place.

I had always hoped the banks would start doing this, however it seems unfair to those who genuinely need to do a chargeback because of a fraudulent seller. Every coin has two sides after all.

I think this was long overdue. With the two sides of the coin it would still be worth pursuing a chargeback. You wil agree with me that a genuine person would not stop at anything.

I read somewhere that this fee depends on chargeback incidences in the account history.

I see what you mean, and if the fee was around the same as the chargeback then it seems unfair. I think it may be the case that if you win you don't pay the fee which is the best idea. There just needs to be a way to stop people making silly claims just because they can.
