    Sensitive products

One of the things recommended as a way to reduce chargebacks is to have a clear /obvious company name appear on a customer's credit card statement. It makes sense that they are less likely to panic and report it as fraudulent, especially if they are heavy card users. But how does this work in cases where the name is obscure to protect the customer?

Not sure that one can be avoided. I do know that 'adult' sites tend to disguise their real identity for the reason you said, but also that they expect and plan for a massive rate of chargebacks. In the end legitimate customers end up paying for those who dispute payments.
