    First chargeback

I just made my first chargeback ever as a purchaser. I am still unbelieving that the item never arrived and the seller never answered a single one of my emails. The chargeback was successful (mostly because the seller never responded to the credit card company either), but a lot of what I read here is about buyers being fraudulent. I guess a lesson for me to remember that sometimes chargebacks are necessary.

I totally agree. Many chargebacks are made for genuine issues, perhaps the credit card was stolen or there was a problem processing a refund. We should be wary but not entirely cynical as the process can be invaluable for people such as yourself.

I agree that some chargebacks are genuine. However there are a lot if unreasonable people out there who make false claims not out of criminal intent but for silly reasons. I have heard of sellers losing money for reasons such as international postal times being longer than the buyer expected.
