    Hi, first of all I would like to let you know Im from Mexico and I'll try to explain myself as well as I can

    I have an Amex Gold card, I made several good transactions with an online merchant where you buy "binary options". At the beginning everything ok, I received my AMEX monthly balance and I make the payment for the transactions.

    Next month I wanted to make more transactions with this merchant but all of them were denied, the merchant still give me credit in my account on their webpage to keep buying binary options (which by the way are a complete scam). It seemed akward that the merchant claimed he was giving me bonus money in my account due to the other deposits I made before, I called AMEX and they told me that my account was frozen due to the fact it was a new account and I have to send in some income proof to keep using the card. They told me they have several transactions denied in their system from this merchant.

    15 days later, after the new montlhy period started, I had a huge single transaction from this merchant, I called AMEX and started a dispute against this transaction.

    what happened is that this merchant made 1 single transaction without further authorization from me with the amount of all the denied transactions I had weeks ago.

    I'm really nervous about the whole situation. Can anyone tell me if I have a chance to won this dispute process and the merchant be chargeback?

    I don't want to make any promises, especially since you are not from the US (I don't know if that will make a difference either way) and since it's Amex rather than Visa, but my experience is, if you have all of your transaction documentation together card companies side more with the customer than merchant.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

    I don't have any documentation, everytime I tried to make a transaction it was declined, I spoked to AMEX and they did told me they had those transactions declined, and my account was frozen till I send them my income receipts.

    When I tried to work something out with the merchant his first reaction was very rude and threathning. Maybe due to the fact he knew he did something wrong.

    So isn't it sufficient evidence all the first declined transactions in AMEX system and the one single transaction not being done or authorized by me? Is there a way they can track that the transaction was clearly not done by me? The declined transactions where around mid June and the single authorized transaction in my account appeared June 30.

    Does it mather the merchant gave me credit to make trading transactions in its webpage? He told me that was bonus money for my initial deposits made more than a month before.

    If you can, see if you can get Amex to send you written documentation of of the declined charges...a print out or anything. In addition, keep a dated journal, notarized weekly if possible, in which you write down all of the dates /times/person you spoke to/IM'ed/emailed at Amex, the merchants site and any other connected party. This is another form of documentation. Finally, the merchant told you it was a bonus payment? Do you have this in the form of an email or a logged IM?
