Thread: Someone fraud your work?

I am just wondering for anyone here who would know, how exactly does your place of work handle fraud issues. If someone claims to make a purchase through your company and its caught, what steps are taken? Do you contact the person who is the real one rather than the scammer?

When I use to work at a fast food restaurant the biggest scam we would get is someone would say they gave us a larger bill than they actually did. Well, we would pull the drawer right then and there and count it out. When it would come back that they didn't give us the larger bill we would ask them to leave the store. They got us a couple times.

My guess would be "yes" !

It isn't likely that there is fraud in such a case, unless some damage is done or the person for whom the work is done, is cheated, or injured in some way. For instance, if you were an expert in a certain field, and contracted your services, but then sent some one else in your place who was not qualified, and loss or injury resulted because you weren't there, then you would be a liable. The mere fact that someone else 'showed' for you wouldn't in itself, be a crime, except if you were under contract and there were stipulations in that contract, designating you and you only to perform a task...

I don't think he means someone sent a substitute for promised work, but that someone pretended to be someone that they are not and the original supplier or purchaser did not know there was a fraud intermediary inserted.
