I have to rant here and see if this has happened to anyone else.

I paid my bill last week on Thursday, since it was towards the end of the week I understand waiting three full business days for it to clear, it did, yesterday, today I find out they credited the wrong account (their fault, not mine) and now want me to do a chargeback because they can not find out who they credited that wasn't me.

I would think that should be something that they need to be a little more careful with. It certainly is just a little inconvenient to say the absolute least. You would think that they would confirm the name on the account with the name on the payment before finalizing it. Are you charged a fee for requesting a chargeback with your account? If so I would tell them that it is their fault and their responsibility to correct the issue.

I have never had anything like this happen to me, thank goodness. If it's their error, as you say, then it seems like they would be responsible for any backlash. My bank has that guarantee for any bill pay issues that are their fault.

I agree with the above comments. They should take care of the problem and not you. When we have the problem, these guys would try to force us to solve the problem without their help. Now that it is their problem therefore they should find a solution on their own as well.

They told me to drive to my bank get a big crazy conf code and then drive back to work to fax it to them, how dumb is that? I still can not understand why someone is unable to go through the transactions for the date in question (I know when it came from my bank) to see where it went to, why is there no tracking system in place?
