Thread: Method of refund

Hi,

This isn't strictly a chargeback question but it is one that I have asked on other forums without getting a well informed response. I found this forum and it looks like everyone is very helpful so .....

If it is necessary to refund a payment to a customer who has paid using a debit card I understand that the refund must go to the original card.

But does this mean you must refund to the original card if you choose to do a debit card refund or does it mean that you are only allowed to do a debit card refund and that refund must be to the original card.

In other words to avoid having to refund to the original card could you refund by cheque?

Generally speaking if a charge is refunded it must go back to the original card used to make the purpose, a debit card is the same (in function) as a credit card, so I see no reason to refund with a check.

So how did the situation work out Fadrus? Did you refund the funds?
