    Help! New Member

Hi I just signed up for this forum because as a small business owner my company is getting screwed by chargebacks even though address verification and security codes are checking out. What can I do? Who can I call to help me get my money back for product that was shipped?

    Thank you for any suggestions

I agree with David - Best advice would be the chargeback warranty service (certified payments) where you are 100% covered if a chargeback ever does occur.

You probably wont be able to recover your money but there are things you can do. It's unfortunately, so many times merchants say "I don't have a chargeback problem" and because of that when they get hit, they are shocked. It's also unfortunately that sometimes the more tools you put in, the worse the problem is because it's bad to see 5 chargebacks but to me it's worse to turn away 50 orders.

    Merchant101,

I agree with Chargebacks that you probably will have a hard time getting your money back. However, going forward, there are a lot of tools that you can implement. AVS and CVV are the basic ones, but they really don't do much. You can also do IP geoplocation, velocity, email reputation, phone/address matching, etc. Those tools are generally pretty good, and should reduce your chargeback/fraud rate by a lot.

You need to get a proper fraud detection and prevention solution. You are good to check the email and security, but this shall not be the main indicator to detect the fraudulence case. Other factors shall consider, like proxy validation, bin info validation, high risk country consideration and so on.
