Anymore the Social Security Administration will only issue a new number in the case of an ex-wife being stalked and in fear for her life, as it would be easy for the ex-husband to find her with her SS#. Even then it is a long process with burden of proof issues. That is the problem with a number that was never intended to be an identifier used for credit, driver licenses, etc. |
