I sold a pinball machine on eBay once for someone else and the guy paid via paypal. When I sent him pictures too show that it was all packaged properly for shipping, he said something like...that's not the pinball machine I bid on...so he went to paypal...I had already deposited the money in my account and give it to the guy...$1300 as a matter of fact. I did make a nice cut from it..BUT the guy went to paypal and they reversed the money out of paypal account..totally froze my account..drained the rest of the funds I had in there. After 2 weeks of not really knowing how to handle it..He agreed to take the pinball machine for $900 instead. So the man understood that I needed some of the cash back to make the refund. Everything with paypal was fine as soon as I agreed to take the lower offer.

I feel like the guy knew he could do this with paypal and would have bid that pinball machine to $20,000 if that's what it took, knowing he could deal later on it thru paypal. He also threw his weight around by telling me he was a NYPD officer and he knew people. I still have his emails. I dunno why I keep them it has been over 2 years ago now.

It has it's ups and downs that's for sure.
