Unfortunately because of the practice, it's impossible to prevent it. Ultimately you just have to be weary, if something doesn't look right, go elsewhere. For example, I've seen auctions jump from $100.00 to $5,000.00 for no reason whatsoever. This can often be a sign of shill bidding but most people today are smarter than that. |
