I suggest you get RoboForm, (not an affiliate link), it will generate long passwords for you that includes !$%^& and it will save and encrypt them.

A password like this, S1g&2ygB2#5&H54cpli^77bED#5*n*RJQIT%D9HTI , is very hard to hack, especially if you change it every two weeks.

I've used it for over three years with no problems.
