The quality of the backlinks are definitely more important than the sheer number.
Keyword density affects where your site will appear in the search results. A person may think that the higher your page rank the higher up your site will appear in the search results but that isnt true.
Try it out. Do a search for any keyword or phrase and look at the sites in the results and check the PR. You will often see PR2 sites and even PR1's listed above PR4 and higher sites. I have even seen two or three PR0 sites and then a PR6. |
