I recall when getting listed on Yahoo was free and drove a lot of traffic. So much for you get what you pay for I also remember when it was a 1 time fee and yet now it's an annual fee, go figure.

Back in the day it was well worth it, even at $299 a year, that was when directory listings got all the traffic. Yahoo then went from directory to ppc search request.

At this point, the only reason I would recommend it to anyone is if they were a moderate to large company or if they had a $5k+ a month budget. Short of that, it's just mainly for the PR value at this point, the only way people tend to find you on Yahoo's directory is if they are looking for you specifically so if that has $299 a year value, then yeah, it's worth it. For most, not any longer
