GDT to expand e-commerce activity in Vanuatu Article From Vanuatu Daily: Quote:
Businesses in Vanuatu now stand a higher chance to connect with local and global markets now that the Vanuatu based e-commerce provider, Global Digital Transfers Inc. (GDT) is expanding its services.
“The Vanuatu market and economy itself can change with the introduction of services. For example GDT can provide for ways for a product produced by a community on an island which would be normally shipped to Vila to be listed before it leaves the island and be viewed by potential buyers and even sold with payment made before it arrives in Vila,” a GDT spokesman said in recent media release.
At present limitations on providing certain services in Vanuatu has been an issue not only for GDT but other businesses.
The GDT spokesman said if Vanuatu is going to embrace electronic commerce as a major new industry then it must set up the necessary support infrastructure.
“We can combine our Telecommunications license and the developing services to allow a business or anyone wanting our services to be connected to the internet world.”
Adding that the internet is a crucial element in the e-commerce world because without it the world will not give countries like Vanuatu a chance to be part of the expanding global market.
GDT believes that Vanuatu is ideally structured to be a major player in the internet and e-commerce world and deserves to gain the associated benefits which can be taken.
In fact the forward thinking legislation passed in Vanuatu was a major factor in the selection of Vanuatu as GDT’s base for development of operations. |
