It helps to get business credit. It takes about a year but it can be done. Open up a corporation or buy an aged one from online.

I don't currently have one, and I have mainly been using personal credit for business expenses. Do you just need to call them to get one started? I know of ways to build credit once I get one, so I'm assuming once you inform them of your existence you can go from there.

It is strictly used to determine the credit worthiness of a business entity. It is basically a credit file for your business.
